Job Overview
The Floor Technician will be responsible for maintaining, restoring, and managing industrial floor care equipment across designated locations. Responsibilities and duties may vary depending on the client site and operational requirements.
This role is full-time throughout the year and requires significant travel—at least 50%—within the Southeastern Alaska region. Housing and travel accommodations are not provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver courteous, efficient customer service to clients, customers, and colleagues.
- Anticipate and address customer needs proactively.
- Perform maintenance on hard flooring, including stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and buffing following established floor care standards.
- Maintain carpet and upholstery using techniques such as shampooing, damp surface cleaning, extraction, spot removal, and vacuuming.
- Operate assigned industrial floor care machinery to clean large floor surfaces as per schedule.
- Carry out maintenance and restorative treatments on various floor types.
- Handle municipal solid waste, infectious, and pharmaceutical waste properly according to regulations, including converting infectious waste to standard waste where applicable.
- Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, soiled linens, used supplies, and equipment; disinfect receptacles and carts as necessary.
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols required by Aramark and relevant local regulatory bodies.
- Observe company appearance policies, wearing required uniforms and personal protective equipment during work.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
- Prior experience in floor care or a related position is preferred, with familiarity operating floor care equipment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to enable effective communication and simple calculations.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged walking or standing.
- Compliance with uniform and protective gear requirements.
