Role Overview

The Financial Analyst will support financial planning, analysis, and reporting to facilitate effective strategic decision-making within Sushi Grade Media's fast-moving media production setting. This part-time remote position involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, monitoring budgets, and evaluating project costs and profitability across diverse content formats. Responsibilities include revenue and expense forecasting, constructing financial models, tracking key performance indicators, identifying operational risks and trends, collaborating with production and leadership teams, maintaining accurate financial documentation, supporting month-end closings, and recommending improvements for greater financial clarity and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong expertise in finance and financial planning, with hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities to interpret data, detect patterns, and deliver actionable financial insights.
  • Competence with financial statements and a solid grasp of finance principles.
  • Experience preparing and communicating financial reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working remotely with collaboration tools and capable of operating independently in a distributed team.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet software like Excel and Google Sheets; knowledge of accounting or business intelligence software is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in media, entertainment, or project-driven settings is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and dedication to maintaining an ethical, inclusive workplace environment.
