Finance Manager

About the Role and Company

We are collaborating with a Japanese financial and leasing company located in Orchard, Singapore, seeking to appoint a Finance Manager. This is a permanent position with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:45 PM. A variable bonus is included in the compensation package.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of finance, accounting, and financial control within the organization.
• Ensure the timely and precise completion of month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial and statutory reporting.
• Oversee corporate tax, GST, and tax compliance requirements, coordinating with external tax consultants and auditors.
• Enforce strong internal controls and maintain adherence to accounting standards and local regulations.
• Provide support and serve as a dependable backup to the Senior Manager in finance functions.
• Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering continuous process enhancements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to aid business and financial decision-making processes.
• Participate actively in finance transformation projects, including implementation of new core systems.
• Coordinate engagements with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory bodies as necessary.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Preferred professional accounting certification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, with senior experience in management roles.
• Desirable previous experience within accounting firms or in handling audit or tax functions associated with such firms.
• Extensive knowledge in financial reporting, internal controls, corporate tax and GST, statutory compliance, and audit processes.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision and assume full responsibility for finance operations.
• Experience in leading finance process improvements or ERP/system implementations is advantageous.
• Strong analytical abilities, communication skills, and aptitude for managing stakeholder relationships.
