Finance Director

Role Overview

We are collaborating with a rapidly expanding global e-commerce firm to recruit a Finance Director responsible for leading and growing the worldwide accounting operations. This senior position covers multiple international subsidiaries and markets, working in partnership with the Group CFO to develop the finance division in line with business growth. It represents an excellent chance for an experienced accounting leader to influence the company's financial strategy and execution significantly.

Key Duties

• Manage and expand the accounting department across numerous international branches.
• Develop a robust and scalable statutory closing and reporting system tailored for a fast-growing e-commerce context.
• Create and implement internal controls and procedures that comply with country-specific closing and reporting standards.
• Maintain and cultivate relationships with external and group auditors, spearheading the preparation of all financial audits.
• Build internal capabilities concerning IFRS translation and consolidation; ensure accuracy in sub-ledger data within NetSuite.
• Assist with the organization-wide deployment of NetSuite and promote continuous enhancements in processes, controls, and systems.
• Provide guidance and leadership to a diverse, international accounting team.
• Work closely with the CFO and senior management to contribute to strategic decisions, financial analyses, and reporting activities.

Candidate Profile

• At least nine years of progressive experience in accounting, with a minimum of five years in leadership roles managing international teams.
• In-depth understanding of IFRS and German GAAP (HGB); knowledge of Polish accounting standards is a valuable addition.
• Practical, hands-on expertise using NetSuite accounting software.
• Demonstrated success in overseeing financial consolidations for multinational organizations and driving improvements in accounting systems and processes.
• Experience in a high-growth e-commerce or marketplace environment is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with financial digital transformation initiatives, including robotic process automation (RPA) and process automation, is advantageous.
• Fluency in both German and English is required; proficiency in Polish is highly beneficial.
