Role Overview
As the export sales manager focused on the Middle East and Southeast Asian regions, you will spearhead commercial growth for ACC's branded export business. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role involves cultivating long-term client partnerships, driving commercial success, optimising margins, and supporting whole-carcass utilisation. You will represent ACC in customer visits, trade missions, and international industry events, enhancing the company's presence in these critical export markets.
Key Responsibilities and Competencies
- Lead commercial development of ACC’s branded export business in the GCC countries (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain) and Southeast Asian markets (Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia).
- Build and maintain enduring relationships with customers, balancing business performance and margin strategies.
- Manage stock and inventory balancing to optimise carcass utilisation and reduce aged stock.
- Navigate international regulations, including export permits, health certificates, incoterms, and other relevant documentation.
- Travel internationally as required to support market development and customer growth.
- Adapt to different cultural business practices, considering negotiation styles, etiquette, communication preferences, and regional holidays.
- Exhibit commercial insight in pricing, exchange rates, freight logistics, and customer profitability analysis.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in export sales within beef, red meat, protein, or food manufacturing sectors; experience within Australia’s beef export industry highly valued.
- Strong understanding of global beef markets and export trade structures relevant to the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
- Excellent communication skills with cross-cultural adaptability.
- Ability and willingness to undertake international travel.
