About Ancient Well Productions
Ancient Well is a creative cinema studio dedicated to exploring the unseen influences shaping daily life. The studio creates original films, cultural programs, and immersive experiences based on themes of memory, ecology, folklore, and ancestral heritage. Currently, Ancient Well is embarking on a five-year plan to complete their seventh short film, Bois Baby, expand into feature-length films, and establish a strong operational infrastructure for a sustainable cinema institution.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Executive Coordinator to work closely with the Founder & CEO, effectively managing the studio's day-to-day operations. This role requires balancing administrative responsibilities with adaptability to creative, evolving needs. The position includes executive support, project coordination, research, and streamlining workflows using AI tools to increase operational efficiency and reduce reactive tasks. This position offers growth opportunities toward Chief of Staff or Operations Lead within the company as it expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee calendar management, meeting arrangements, inbox support, note-taking, and task follow-ups for the Founder & CEO.
- Maintain organization across studio systems including productions, partnerships, events, vendor relations, research efforts, and internal documentation.
- Monitor project details, ensure consistent execution, and uphold orderliness within studio processes.
- Leverage AI tools to minimize administrative workload and promote proactive studio operations.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 2 to 4 years of experience in executive support, operations, production coordination, arts administration, or related fields.
- Exhibit exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong written communication.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion, exercising sound judgment and reliability.
- Comfortable collaborating directly with leadership and contributing to building operational systems from the ground up.
- Committed to performing coordination tasks with care, precision, and consistency.
- Interest in independent film, cultural initiatives, or arts institution development is highly desirable.
Compensation and Work Conditions
- Initial part-time engagement of 25 hours per week at an hourly rate of $31.25.
- Work schedule includes two days per week onsite at the Oxon Hill, MD location within the DC Metro area.
- Trial period of four months, with intention to transition to full-time employment upon successful review.
- Opportunity to attend studio film screenings and participate in cultural programming.
