Role Summary
Based primarily in Reading, Slough, and West London, this full-time permanent position involves supporting traffic management activities by delivering and setting up roadwork signs, barriers, and safety equipment for both highway and private site operations. You'll also carry out comprehensive inspections aligned with NRSWA standards and the Code of Practice, ensuring all signage, lighting, guarding, and reinstatement work complies with safety standards.
Key Duties
- Transporting, delivering, and organizing traffic management materials such as roadwork signs and barriers across depots and sites.
- Conducting Category A, B, and C inspections per NRSWA and Code of Practice guidelines, verifying traffic safety compliance.
- Utilizing handheld devices or inspection software to meticulously log inspection results.
- Maintaining adequate stock levels of traffic safety items at depots and coordinating with various teams to assure availability across regions.
- Operating various vehicles including 4x4s, vans, lorries, and Hiab cranes, assisting installation of safety equipment and materials.
- Providing out-of-hours assistance on a rotational basis to respond to faults during nights and weekends, supporting uninterrupted business operations.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Prior experience in a similar traffic management driving role.
- Possession of a current UK driving licence.
- Certification in NRSWA Street Works signing and guarding is mandatory.
- Good physical fitness to handle demanding tasks and ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Proactive approach and strong teamwork capabilities.
- Holding HGV Class 2 licence and Hiab crane operation experience is advantageous but not essential; relevant plant operation qualifications would be a plus.
- Strong safety mindset with commitment to fostering a workplace culture prioritizing safety.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: £30,684 - £36,666 annually, plus additional London Allowance if based in London or Slough.
