About Canyon Creek Behavioral Health
Canyon Creek Behavioral Health, part of Universal Health Services, is a 102-bed psychiatric hospital in Temple, Texas, dedicated to treating adolescents, adults, and seniors facing behavioral health challenges including psychiatric disorders, chemical dependency, anxiety, and depression. The facility offers both inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs designed to provide compassionate treatment to the Central Texas community.
Role Overview
The Human Resources Director will lead the overall HR functions for the facility, delivering comprehensive support including recruitment for vacancies, conducting employee orientations, maintaining personnel files, managing benefits enrollment, guiding supervisors on employee performance management, handling unemployment compensation matters, and coordinating employee events and training sessions. This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and requires on-site presence.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline.
- Preferred professional certification: SPHR or PHR.
- At least 5 years of experience in human resources, with a minimum of 2 years within a healthcare environment.
- Prior supervisory or director-level HR experience needed.
- Familiarity with HR Joint Commission Standards and Survey processes is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential.
- Proficient in multiple HR systems such as applicant tracking, HRIS, learning management, payroll systems; specifically experienced with iCIMS, Workday, KRONOS, ADP.
- Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to generate HR reports.
- Understanding of federal and state employment legislation related to HR.
Additional Skills
- HR certification (HRCI or SHRM) recommended.
- Experience managing wage/salary programs, employee benefits, workers compensation, recruitment and retention strategies, staff development, and employee relations.
- Leadership capabilities combined with strong organizational, supervisory, and administrative skills.
- Ability to function effectively in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.
