Job Description

As a Residential Designer at NORR, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary design team to develop architectural solutions that suit the specific context, budget, and aesthetics of the projects. You will have the responsibility to coordinate designs across all phases, ensuring project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze information from various reports and documents to understand broad project requirements.
• Create architectural designs that deliver top-quality outcomes aligned with timelines and budget constraints.
• Coordinate and harmonize design intentions with other involved disciplines.
• Incorporate engineering specifications, site survey data, and field reviews while complying with all relevant codes and jurisdictional regulations.
• Prepare detailed design reports, drawings, and models adhering to office standards.
• Conduct site visits to verify compliance with construction documentation, identify discrepancies, and communicate effectively with owners and contractors to resolve issues promptly.
• Review project deliverables, shop drawings, and services to ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes, and corporate quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Post-secondary education in a related architectural field successfully completed.
• Professional registration with a relevant architectural association is considered an asset.
• Proven experience ranging from 7 to 10 years in project work, with familiarity in residential projects preferred.
• Proficiency with architectural design software including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PhotoShop, and others.
• Strong understanding of MEP and structural building systems and applicable building codes.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $105,000.
