About the Role
This is a founding position at Cove, a startup funded by Deck2 Capital, operating in the digital insurance sector. Cove manages and grows profitable insurance-related ventures acquired by Deck2 Capital. The role is Sydney-based and involves taking full ownership of the product's design, feel, and continuous performance optimization, starting from a blank slate to a highly refined user experience.
Role Overview
The ideal candidate is a commercial digital designer with proven experience shipping customer-facing products focused not only on aesthetics but also on conversion optimization. You will be hands-on in translating design ideas into working prototypes through coding, working tightly with a component-driven front-end. You will lead experimentation and conversion rate optimization efforts, employing robust A/B/X testing strategies connected directly to measurable outcomes, supported by analytics and testing tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product's design and user experience, building from scratch and iteratively enhancing existing interfaces.
- Develop coded prototypes to demonstrate and test design concepts effectively.
- Implement deep experimentation frameworks, using rigorous split testing methodologies to boost conversion.
- Collaborate closely with front-end development to align designs with component-driven architecture.
- Ensure every design delivered includes mechanisms to measure its effectiveness.
Candidate Profile
- Strong background in UI/UX design with a clear focus on driving conversion, preferably within high-traffic consumer or fintech environments.
- Proficient at coding your own prototypes and comfortable working near front-end codebases.
- Experience in designing and executing detailed A/B/X testing linked to business outcomes.
- Comfortable working autonomously with a blank canvas or refining existing design systems incrementally.
- Bonus: Experienced in integrating AI technologies such as prompt engineering and utilizing AI agents to perform multi-step production tasks.
Additional Information
This role is with Cove, and the candidate will be employed by the company while working alongside Deck2 Capital's support. The venture is still in stealth mode but already profitable.
