About the Role
John Paul Construction values continuous improvement in every project and fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technology adoption. As part of our expansion in Dublin, we are looking for a Design Coordinator to join our team onsite. This role requires a candidate with a background in design and experience overseeing design projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the site team to manage project setting out, ensuring coordination of architectural and engineering details.
- Coordinate utilities and services among mechanical and electrical engineers and various utility providers alongside the site team.
- Work with the Project Manager and Site Manager to prepare and update the schedule of information requirements, distributing relevant requests to architects or engineers and monitoring progress against the contract program.
- Manage the technical submittal process for all construction components, including developing and maintaining a system to track submittal status according to the contract timeline.
- Regularly review technical submittal progress and inform the Project Manager of any challenges or delays.
- Maintain a procurement tracking schedule based on approved technical submittals and cost approvals as per the contract schedule.
- Respond promptly to all queries arising throughout the contract, ensuring proper documentation and efficient handling.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ industry experience as a Design Manager in Commercial, Residential, Data Centre, or Industrial projects.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Architecture.
- Experience working with a Main Contractor is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
- Self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and clients.
