About the Role
This new Data Scientist position is part of the Manufacturing Sciences function based at the Bray site. The role offers an exceptional chance to influence the data science strategy and methodologies within Manufacturing Sciences. As a key contributor, you will provide digital and data science expertise specifically for small molecule drug products by initiating and leading local data science projects aimed at enhancing process control, consistency, and productivity. Collaboration occurs with teams across Digital, Data and Technology, Automation, Manufacturing Sciences, Quality, and Global Manufacturing Sciences. Reporting is to the Head of Manufacturing Sciences, with no direct managerial responsibilities.
Key Contributions
- Enable better process insight and proactive control of product and process outcomes through data-driven approaches.
- Assist in the early identification of deviations and contribute to resolving issues affecting product and process quality.
- Analyze manufacturing data to detect trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement.
- Create data mining strategies, develop statistical reports, and implement analytical techniques that aid in decision-making.
- Utilize advanced data science techniques including machine learning, AI, deep learning, and big data to address manufacturing challenges.
- Communicate complex data insights clearly via visualizations and concise explanations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully deploy digital and data science initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or master’s level qualification in Life Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, or Information Technology.
- A minimum of two years’ professional experience in data science, analytics, or a related field.
- Proven practical experience with Artificial Intelligence implementations and a solid grasp of machine learning methods.
- Proficient programming skills in MATLAB, Python, R, or similar languages.
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical sector, particularly small molecule drug product manufacturing, is advantageous.
- Skilled in using data visualization tools such as Power BI with the ability to effectively present findings.
- Knowledge of process engineering is preferred.
- Familiarity with digital twins and Process Analytical Technology is a plus.
- Experience with BIOVIA Discoverant and SIMCA software preferred.
