Data Analyst II

About the Role

Our client, a technology firm, is seeking to fill a Data Analyst position to work remotely within the U.S. This contract role is expected to last at least four months with a possibility of extension. The hourly pay rate ranges from $30 to $33.82 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, support, and troubleshoot ETL and data pipelines facilitating merchant onboarding and data integration processes.
• Transform, analyze, and verify merchant data feeds formatted as JSON, XML, CSV, and TXT files, converting them into standardized database schemas through SQL.
• Develop and maintain complex SQL transformation scripts within Databricks, preferably using Spark SQL, with strong attention to data quality and pipeline robustness.
• Diagnose production data issues by performing root cause analyses and collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Technical Account teams to support merchant integration deliverables.
• Document all transformation logic, schema mappings, and actively seek automation opportunities to enhance efficiency in operations.

Qualifications

• At least two years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL development, integrating data systems, or data analytics.
• Advanced skills in SQL with a background in designing or managing ETL or data pipeline workflows; prior exposure to Databricks and Spark SQL is preferred.
• Familiarity with processing diverse file formats including JSON, XML, CSV, and other flat files, alongside skills in data transformation and schema validation.
• Excellent problem-solving aptitude and strong multitasking capabilities.
