Position Objective
This role is focused on supporting a vital project to eradicate inconsistencies in part identification, incorrect cross-references, and outdated product data that cause lost sales and customer confusion. You will be responsible for cleansing, managing, and upholding the accuracy and standardization of parts information across various systems, ensuring data integrity and usability for internal users and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial comprehensive data audits and correct part names across diverse databases.
- Validate and reconstruct product relationships, including obsolete items, alternates, supersessions, kits, and subcomponents.
- Standardize OEM and vendor cross-reference data and validate accuracy.
- Eliminate redundant or outdated notes that limit search functionality.
- Ensure essential product data is correctly reflected on the e-commerce platform.
- Review and update customer documents, photos, PDFs, and drawings attached to products for accuracy and relevance.
- Reclassify parts accurately into Category/Set/Class structures, enhancing catalog consistency and coordinating updates with the Pricing Department.
- Manage ongoing data discrepancies in real time, ensuring ERP, catalog, and e-commerce systems are synchronized.
- Maintain accuracy of all product relationships including replacements and component groups.
- Coordinate revisions to customer-facing attachments and product information to keep details current.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Product Management, Procurement, Customer Service, and Business Systems to uphold thorough data accuracy.
- Document all data changes, policies, and governance standards meticulously.
- Design scalable workflows for data governance to sustain long-term data quality.
- Advocate and suggest system improvements to enhance product data handling and visibility.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at boosting catalog searchability, product precision, and the customer digital experience.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Educational background in Data Science, Statistics, or Business Analytics.
- Familiarity with catalog data, cross-referencing techniques, and product identification standards.
- Experience working with ERP systems and product data management tools.
- Knowledge of data governance, process enhancements, or LEAN frameworks.
- Proficiency in data management technologies such as SQL, Python, advanced Excel functions, and data cleansing utilities, including ERP reporting tools.
- Understanding of e-commerce platforms and digital content management systems.
- Strong analytical abilities with exceptional attention to detail for identifying and rectifying data inconsistencies.
- Capability to work autonomously and assume complete responsibility for data quality goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong documentation practices.
- Insight into cataloging processes and historic data structures.
- Exceptional organizational skills suited for managing large complex datasets.
- Problem-solving aptitude particularly in root cause analysis of data workflows.
- Competence in formulating and maintaining data standards and governance protocols.
