Customer Delivery Driver - Rutherglen Extra

About the role

As a vital representative of Tesco on the road, Customer Delivery Drivers visit customers at their residences daily. This role encompasses much more than just driving; it's about delivering exceptional service with a friendly approach. The work is physically engaging, hands-on, and diverse with no two days alike. Most of the day is spent independently, though a dedicated team of managers and colleagues is available for support when needed.

Pay starts at 3.18 per hour, increasing to 3.45 within M25 store locations, with some areas providing additional pay. We guarantee a minimum of 16 working hours weekly, with options starting from 12 hours.

Working Hours Availability

• Sunday: 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
• Monday: 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM
• Tuesday: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Wednesday: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Friday: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Saturday: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the delivery van, trays, and workspaces neat, clean, and well-organized to ensure customers receive their groceries in excellent condition.
• Load the van with care and perform thorough checks to guarantee it is safe, reliable, and ready for deliveries.
• Communicate amicably with customers regarding order changes, substitutions, or perishable items, providing refunds when necessary to maintain a smooth customer experience.
• Handle all products cautiously, treating each order as your own to uphold quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver within scheduled customer time slots, offering warm and genuine service that leaves customers feeling appreciated and cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Develop positive working relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit and optimize service quality.
• Display a warm and welcoming attitude towards customers and team members.
• Adapt swiftly to fluctuating customer requirements and embrace changes both on the road and at the store.
• Hold a valid full UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (manual or automatic) held for at least one year, with no more than three penalty points.
