Content Designer

About the Role

Join Meta's Content Design team, where you will craft clear, intuitive, and human-centered experiences. This position revolves around creating and refining in-product language for a variety of platforms including mobile, desktop, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and hardware products used globally. The team is expansive and diverse, welcoming professionals at multiple career levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and refine clear, engaging in-product text, such as product flows, interface copy, educational material, product naming, navigational terms, and taxonomies across Meta's product suite
• Employ systems thinking to develop design system guidelines, audit current product experiences, and structure information architecture
• Leverage knowledge of software coding to update, review, and personalize product language within code using internal tools
• Act as a thought leader by providing and soliciting interdisciplinary feedback to enhance product quality
• Use Figma to visually communicate ideas, create detailed design mockups, and prototypes to assist decision-making processes
• Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, research, marketing, and data science from product conception to launch
• Lead design sprints and workshops to align teams on challenges, goals, and solution spaces
• Work with the internationalization team to ensure product quality across multiple languages
• Exercise sound judgment in guiding product decisions, team direction, and overall strategy
• Independently identify projects spanning multiple teams, driving alignment among leaders and stakeholders on product strategy
• Develop and foster internal communities, mentoring peers and promoting skill development among content designers

Minimum Qualifications

• Over 9 years of experience in UX or Content Design roles
• Portfolio showcasing wireframes, design mockups, or prototypes that successfully communicated concepts and influenced multidisciplinary leadership
• Ability to simplify and persuasively convey complex concepts to company leaders
• Experience with tools that manage and update content at scale
• Proficiency in design systems and systemic thinking
• Demonstrated aptitude for independently initiating projects and managing ambiguous situations

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven capability in integrating AI tools to improve workflows and produce measurable outcomes such as efficiency and quality enhancements
• Experience operating flexibly across multiple projects and organizational structures, maintaining high quality and momentum
• Commitment to responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk evaluation, bias reduction, and quality assurance
• Expertise in AI-native content design including model design, generative AI mechanics, and defining assistant behaviors at a systemic level
• Strong leadership as a senior individual contributor with the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous domains and lead critical product workstreams
• Skill in consumer storytelling to create clear and compelling narratives in user-facing experiences
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership earning trust quickly from product, engineering, and design teams
• Ongoing development of AI skills such as prompt engineering and agent orchestration while staying updated with latest AI advancements

Compensation

The salary range for this role is from $178,000 to $240,000 per year, complemented by bonuses, equity packages, and benefits. Final compensation depends on multiple factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location. Compensation numbers presented reflect base salaries only, excluding incentives.
