Role Summary

Consulting Engineers in Cisco's Customer Experience (CX) team play a critical role by combining Cisco Analytics and deep technical consulting expertise to enhance customers' networks. They act as trusted advisors, guiding clients through risk reduction, technological adoption, and network optimizations that align with businesses' goals. Collaboration with Cisco Engineering ensures customers stay at the forefront of technological innovation.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to deliver value, drive adoption of solutions, and renewal of services while facilitating smooth collaboration across different teams for a cohesive customer lifecycle experience.
• Provide second-level support on Cisco products, utilizing technical knowledge, AI, automation, and strategic insight to optimize network performance and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as a central point for proactive problem-solving and prompt resolution spanning multiple Cisco technologies.
• Create and distribute technical materials and guidance that empower customer engagement, enhance solution adoption, and promote customer independence.
• Develop customer-facing documentation that is precise, clear, and aligned with CX standards.
• Apply AI and automation tools to improve delivery efficiency, innovate solutions, and focus on high-impact initiatives.
• Contribute to internal knowledge bases, including templates, automation tools, and intellectual assets, to refine Cisco's delivery processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in disciplines such as Computer Science, Networking, IT, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in technical consulting, network design, deployment, and issue resolution.
• Expertise with routing protocols including ISIS, OSPF, and especially BGP; proficiency in multicast, QoS, and MPLS technologies such as L3VPN, L2VPN, and EVPN.
• Experience working with Internet Service Provider infrastructure and platforms including ASR9k, NCS5k, NCS500, NCS6k, and CRS.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and designing network solutions using Cisco routers and switches.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technology strategies and architectural approaches effectively across technical and executive audiences.
• CCNP certification is mandatory; CCIE (Routing & Switching or Service Provider) is strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Proven ability to influence and motivate in a complex matrix environment to drive outcomes.
• Experience delivering customer workshops and performing high-level and low-level network design.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies such as SDA, SDWAN, and ACI.
• Familiarity with Cisco Nexus Switches or Cisco security product lines.
• Skills in AI/ML, network automation using Python, Ansible, GoLang, or Splunk are advantageous.
