Role Overview

The Cloud Security team safeguards the core platforms supporting Fin’s services. This team works closely with infrastructure and product engineering units to secure cloud environments, identify threats, respond to incidents, and establish robust security foundations that empower teams to operate confidently and rapidly. Responsibilities include managing cloud security controls, detection engineering, monitoring, incident response, and securing production systems that drive all customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement secure AWS cloud environments.
• Create and maintain protective and detective security measures to enhance visibility across cloud assets.
• Develop detection engineering capabilities to identify adversarial behavior and accelerate detection and response times.
• Lead technical investigations and incident response efforts in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation to support containment and remediation during security incidents.
• Automate and improve scalability and reliability of security controls and workflows.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to integrate security into cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code processes.
• Develop cloud security standards, guidelines, and best practices within the organization.
• Manage security projects from concept through implementation with measurable outcomes.
• Assess new threats and adapt defenses accordingly.
• Contribute to developing Fin’s AI-driven security approach, including AI-assisted detection and automated investigations.
• Support the secure use of AI-assisted tools in software development and engineering workflows.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in cloud security, security or detection engineering, or related fields.
• Proficient in securing and managing production AWS environments.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, common attack methods, and industry best practices.
• Experience in building threat detection and monitoring capabilities.
• Hands-on expertise in investigating security incidents, leading investigations, and driving remediation efforts.
• Experience implementing security controls throughout cloud platforms and production settings.
• Proficient programming skills used to develop automation tools and operational workflows.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and modern cloud-native technologies.
• Comfort with leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity.
• Effective communicator able to clearly convey security concepts and collaborate with engineering teams.
• A balanced, pragmatic mindset to reconcile security needs with customer impact and engineering agility.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

• Experience developing security operations, detection engineering, or threat hunting at scale.
• Knowledge of cloud-native security platforms, CNAPP technologies, or large-scale monitoring systems.
• Experience applying AI techniques to detection, threat analysis, or security operations.
• Understanding of AWS networking, identity management, and cloud security architecture.
• Experience working in both large SaaS environments and rapidly growing companies.
