Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to serve primarily within Aldershot and its vicinity, with occasional visits to our Basingstoke office for training and meetings. This is a full-time, permanent position demanding 39 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistent caretaking services across communal areas in housing properties, including rubbish removal from bin areas, clearing fly tipping, and cleaning hallways
  • Conduct safety equipment inspections such as fire alarm testing and fire safety compliance checks
  • Adhere to a work schedule and maintain sites to predetermined standards and frequencies
  • Follow defined operational specifications and comply with a seven-step first class repair service
  • Maintain detailed electronic records of site visits, minor repairs carried out, and communal lighting maintenance

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in cleaning, caretaking, or janitorial roles, preferably with knowledge of operating cleaning machines
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs
  • Possession of a valid driving licence (category B) held for at least one year
  • Comfortable using handheld electronic devices for logging work activities
  • Physical capability to work at heights, handle heavy and bulky items, and engage in frequent mobility tasks such as walking and loading/unloading vehicles
