Alternative Heat Ltd is a leading offsite construction specialist based in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland, focusing on delivering bespoke mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) solutions through innovative digital design and BIM processes.
Role summary
The BIM Technician will work within the BIM and Design teams, assisting in creating detailed, well-coordinated 3D models that support all stages from design through to onsite installation. This position offers entry to intermediate level professionals the chance to gain practical experience in digital modelling, prefabrication approaches, and BIM implementations aligned with industry standards.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Develop and update 3D Revit MEP models for mechanical and electrical systems ensuring accuracy and integration.
- Collaborate with BIM Coordinators, engineers, and project managers to ensure models are clash-free and properly coordinated.
- Prepare federated BIM models and manage issue tracking using Revizto software.
- Respond promptly to design modifications and incorporate markups into model updates.
- Create detailed 2D drawings as well as fabrication and installation documentation packages.
- Maintain model data integrity and control versioning within the Common Data Environment in compliance with ISO 19650 standards.
- Provide current construction information to fabrication and site teams to support project delivery.
- Engage in coordination meetings and ongoing model reviews with project stakeholders.
- Continuously improve expertise through training on Revit, Revizto, company processes, and digital delivery workflow enhancements.
- Contribute suggestions to enhance BIM modelling standards and team efficiencies.
Working schedule and location
This role is based at the company’s head office in Dundalk, County Louth, operating Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Compensation
Salary is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience.
