Role Summary

This role focuses on backend software development, exploring and assessing new technologies, prototyping, and delivering cloud-native applications suitable for production environments. Your time will be split among coding, integrating team efforts, and comprehensive testing.

This opportunity supports remote work arrangements.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with a skilled developer team.
Design and architect backend services and data layers.
Develop backend algorithms including APIs and data repositories.
Work with UI/UX designers to ensure seamless integration.
Innovate and experiment by creating proof of concept projects using state-of-the-art cloud and AI technology.
Maintain high standards of operational excellence, security, compliance, and enterprise readiness throughout development.

Candidate Profile

Degree in computer science or a comparable field.
Minimum of three years' experience in full-stack development and project management.
Proven backend or full-stack expertise contributing significantly to software projects.
Strong skills in collaboration, reporting, and organizational tasks.
Technical proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
Extensive experience in API development for both backend and frontend interfaces.
Solid knowledge of data modeling, repository design, and cloud storage.
Hands-on experience in load, component, and unit testing methodologies.
Familiarity with containerization and serverless cloud-native platforms such as Kubernetes.
Experience creating single-page applications using React.js.
Proficient in Git branching and source code control.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position in Ontario is CAD 105,000 to CAD 156,600 annually, with eligibility for bonuses. Salary placement depends on individual location, skills, and qualifications. KPMG provides a competitive total rewards package.
