Role Overview
The position of Assistant Project Manager is a full-time, on-location role based in Harare. This role involves assisting project managers through planning, organizing, and monitoring project activities to guarantee projects are delivered on schedule and efficiently. Daily duties include aiding project scheduling, accelerating project tasks, coordinating with teammates and external collaborators, and overseeing logistics and inspections pertinent to active projects. The role also entails preparing reports, maintaining up-to-date project records, following up on assigned actions, identifying risks, contributing to process enhancements, and facilitating clear communication among all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Competency in project coordination and management to assist in planning, tracking, and executing projects.
- Experience in expediting tasks to ensure on-time completion of deliverables.
- Inspection skills to confirm adherence to project specifications, quality criteria, and safety standards.
- Knowledge of logistics management including material movement, scheduling, and resource distribution.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a focus on accurate documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for effective collaboration with diverse teams and external partners.
- Familiarity with project management tools and software such as MS Office, spreadsheets, and project tracking applications.
- Ability to work on-site in Harare, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to dynamic project needs.
- Preferably, a diploma or degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Prior experience in project support roles, coordination, or logistics/operations is advantageous.
