Assistant General Manager/General Manager - Operations & Process Excellence

IOC GPS Renewables Pvt. Ltd. (IGRPL) is a pioneering joint venture established in June 2024 between Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and GPS Renewables Pvt. Ltd., focused on advancing large-scale Compressed Biogas (CBG) infrastructure to promote a cleaner, sustainable energy future in India.

Role Summary

The Assistant General Manager/General Manager - Operations & Process Excellence will oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of all BioCNG plants across various Indian locations commissioned by the EPC team. This leadership position involves ensuring performance KPIs are met within the O&M budget, compliance maintenance, statutory approvals, and overall operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily plant operations and maintenance activities across multiple sites.
• Review performance reports regularly and provide strategic insights to the Head Office.
• Ensure timely procurement and management of spares, maintenance planning, and inventory control to maximize equipment availability.
• Conduct audits and site inspections to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and capacity enhancement.
• Coordinate with Plant Managers, BAM & Aggregation teams to develop and implement best practices, policies, and procedures.
• Manage OPEX budgets, expenditure, cash flows, work schedules, and safety performance metrics.
• Support the CEO in key business decisions and engage with stakeholders to foster collaborations.
• Facilitate regular training programs for plant personnel to strengthen operational capabilities and onsite discipline.
• Participate in technical studies such as HAZOP, design reviews, and model assessments for current and future plant expansions.
• Drive IT system development and implementation for KPI dashboards, reports, and asset management tools.
• Ensure all statutory approvals are acquired and renewed as required, maintaining compliance across plants.
• Engage with local authorities for necessary liaison and regulatory adherence.

Other Expectations

• Comprehensive understanding of business functions including HR, finance, supply chain, and IT.
• Experience in IT system implementation.

• Willingness to undertake site visits and travel to operational locations as necessary.
• Strong knowledge of anaerobic digestion, gas upgrading, CBG compression, and instrumentation.

Reporting and Supervision

This position reports directly to the company's CEO and is based at the Head Office. The role includes managing the Manager Operations, BAM & Aggregation teams, Plant Managers, Deputy Plant Managers, and other plant workforce.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, or Mechanical) preferred; MBA or Operations Management certifications are advantageous.
• 15-24 years of overall professional experience with a minimum of 6-10 years leading multi-plant operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of process safety protocols and renewables, preferably from CBG or related sectors.
