Apprentice Product Designer

About the Role

Pinterest is looking for an Apprentice Product Designer to join a program built for professionals coming from non-technical backgrounds and for candidates who may have faced barriers entering the industry. The apprenticeship offers hands-on exposure to product design at Pinterest and can last for up to one year, with the possibility of being considered for a full-time Product Designer role at the end. The role is employment at will, and the program length is not guaranteed to be exactly one year.

What You Will Do

• Partner with Pinterest Product Designers as well as stakeholders in Research, Product Management, and Engineering on a high-impact project.
• Gain practical exposure to the full design process, from early ideation and exploration through implementation with Engineering.
• Work with a dedicated mentor who will help you understand expectations and grow into the Product Designer role.
• Use AI tools to improve productivity and make cross-functional collaboration smoother and more effective.
• Take part in ongoing learning and development opportunities throughout the apprenticeship.

Who This Program Is For

This apprenticeship is intended for professionals from non-tech backgrounds, including design bootcamp graduates, self-taught candidates, and people without a related degree or prior professional Product Design experience. Pinterest is seeking self-driven, proactive individuals who want to build a career in tech and are eager to learn how product design works inside the company.

Eligibility and Requirements

• Candidates should have a learner-and-builder mindset and be able to quickly adapt to new AI tools within the product development process.
• Applicants should be able to apply AI thoughtfully, with attention to decision quality, design craft, and efficiency.
• At least 1 year of experience collaborating and communicating clearly in a professional workplace is preferred.
• Applicants should have practical experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
• Students currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program are not eligible because the apprenticeship requires full-time availability during business hours.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Work Arrangement and Other Conditions

• This role is based in the United States and is an onsite position.
• Relocation assistance is not provided.
• The company notes that the ideal work environment may vary by department or role and can differ depending on day-to-day needs.

• The program is scheduled to begin on October 19, 2026.

Compensation

The stated monthly base salary range for this position is $8,910 to $10,450.
