About the role

Ali & Co Accountants Limited is inviting a motivated and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to become part of our growing team. This fully remote position offers the chance to advance your accounting career within a respected UK accountancy firm.

Key responsibilities

Maintain organized and accurate bookkeeping records utilizing Capium, QuickBooks, and Xero platforms.
Prepare and file VAT returns punctually.
Conduct reconciliations for bank and control accounts.
Handle processing for sales and purchase invoices.
Assist in payroll administration tasks.
Compile working papers to support year-end financial statements.
Contribute to preparation of Corporation Tax and Self Assessment tax returns.
Keep client financial documentation precise and up to date.
Communicate with clients for data collection and query resolution.
Offer administrative support to the accounting team as requested.

Candidate requirements

Prior experience in bookkeeping or as an accounts assistant.
Solid grasp of UK accounting standards and principles.
Hands-on experience with cloud accounting software.
Excellent attention to detail paired with strong organizational abilities.
Good communication skills in both writing and speaking.
Capability to work autonomously, juggle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines reliably.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
