Position Overview

The Wellness Clerk 2 at Oliver's Market in Windsor, Ontario, plays a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Wellness Department, focusing on achieving departmental profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer support by promptly and effectively addressing inquiries and needs.
• Gain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of product inventory including vitamins, supplements, and body care items, as well as their respective aisle locations.
• Contribute to the upkeep of the sales floor by merchandising, organizing products, rotating perishables, and ensuring accurate signage.
• Manage vendor and distributor orders to ensure optimal product assortment and inventory accuracy.
• Establish and nurture professional relationships with both customers and team members.
• Respond to phone calls and pages courteously and promptly.
• Adhere to established safety, health, sanitation, and operational protocols including Weights and Measures standards.
• Report safety hazards or infractions to supervisors immediately.
• Complete assigned opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks diligently.
• Attend all scheduled shifts, training sessions, and meetings.
• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisory staff.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Preferred experience in retail or grocery environments.
• Basic understanding of vitamins, supplements, and body care products.
• Awareness of current trends in both natural and conventional supplements and body care goods.
• Fundamental computer skills to research product details.
• Ability to follow instructions carefully with strong attention to detail.
• Capability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
• Basic mathematical competency.

Educational Requirement

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Physical & Environmental Conditions

• Work involves exposure to various food items including flour, grains, dairy, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and allergens.
• Frequently lift or carry items weighing 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Day-to-day tasks require constant standing and walking, with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
• Hand usage includes grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Possible exposure to extreme temperatures (freezers, ovens, grills) and varied weather conditions.
