Water Engineer

Role Overview

This position is based in Tauranga within a growing water team, offering an opportunity to deliver engineering solutions tied to water infrastructure projects that valuably impact the community and environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and oversee the execution of projects related to stormwater, potable water supply, wastewater management, and other multidisciplinary infrastructure developments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across sectors to ensure successful project delivery and high satisfaction.
• Produce comprehensive, high-quality technical reports, communications, and project deliverables.
• Work collaboratively, both from the office and onsite, coordinating with virtual teams locally and internationally to achieve project goals.
• Mentor and provide guidance to graduate engineers involved in design tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A tertiary degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with 5-7 years’ extensive experience in related disciplines.
• Sound knowledge of industry design standards, codes, and best practices.
• Experience serving public and private sector clients.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and data management.
• Familiarity with design software such as 12D, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent organisational skills managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• A proactive, energetic, and self-driven approach toward professional responsibilities.
• Adaptability and flexibility when encountering new challenges or changing project requirements.
