Job description
Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing warehouse operations, handling goods receipt and issuance, maintaining storage organization, and ensuring documentation accuracy to keep system records aligned with physical inventory at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly review and update store standard operating procedures to uphold effective inventory control and excellent customer service.
- Implement approved SOPs, inventory policies, and customer experience standards within the warehouse.
- Ensure the security and accountability of all stock items at the Exsan House facility.
- Assign daily tasks and resources among warehouse staff to meet order fulfillment requirements.
- Maintain high standards of workplace organization and cleanliness following 5S methodology, fostering a safe environment.
- Supervise all stock inflow and outflow activities, verifying completeness and accuracy in line with company policies and SOPs.
- Log all received goods into the system within two hours, keeping proper records of deliveries.
- Manage weekly restocking of solar consumable products across branches and identify shortages to initiate purchase requisitions accordingly.
- Oversee order processing to prevent delays and conduct physical checks of outbound customer orders to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect received goods for damages or irregularities, reporting issues promptly.
- Promote damage-free handling in the warehouse by enforcing correct procedures and conducting root cause analyses on any incidents.
- Perform daily cycle counts to maintain zero discrepancies, investigating and rectifying any variances found, and ensure documentation is accurately filed.
- Monitor transfer orders to avoid losses during transportation.
- Encourage proper warehousing practices by organizing stock placement and keeping pathways clear.
- Ensure all warehouse entrants use required personal protective equipment and foster safety-conscious behavior among the team.
- Open and close the warehouse daily, controlling access strictly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related discipline required.
- Certification in Warehouse Management or Inventory Control is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations, inventory oversight, or store supervision.
- Proven track record managing high-volume inventory and executing SOPs effectively.
Core Skills and Competencies
- Proficient use of ERP systems such as SAP, Navision, or Oracle for stock management and reporting.
- Strong expertise in inventory control including cycle counting, reconciling stock, and analyzing discrepancies.
- Experience implementing lean warehousing and 5S practices to improve operational excellence.
- Leadership skills to direct teams, manage workloads, and uphold safety and quality standards.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols and PPE enforcement to ensure workplace safety.
- Meticulous attention to detail in both physical checks and system record maintenance.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for solving inventory issues such as damages or discrepancies.
