Role Overview

The Warehouse Shipping Controller is responsible for managing daily shipping activities to uphold GMP quality, cost control, and service standards within the warehouse shipping function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the efficient daily operation of warehouse shipping including collections and deliveries of finished goods, raw materials, components, and non-inventory items, managing internal and external storage locations.
• Coordinate transportation logistics for timely collections, deliveries, and shipping requests.
• Develop and communicate the weekly sterilizer shipping schedule, liaising with sterilizer sites and adjusting plans to align with business needs.
• Engage daily with sterilization facilities regarding Pre-Sterile and Post-Sterile products and manage sales and capital orders through Oracle in collaboration with P&IC for shipment arrangements.
• Manage prompt picking and dispatch of spare parts orders.
• Ensure all shipments are carefully picked, packed, and transported to prevent damage or deterioration during transit, and accurately process inventory control transactions.
• Verify accuracy and compliance of shipment documentation, ensuring alignment with customer specifications.
• Adhere strictly to all required training and procedures related to dangerous goods shipping legislation.
• Maintain thorough paperwork and filing practices to satisfy GDP requirements and create comprehensive audit trails.
• Update weekly shipping and consolidation reporting.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department on product handling and with Finance on invoicing and pricing.
• Coordinate with Trade Compliance on customs and export documentation, and with the Belgium plant regarding shipping paperwork.
• Provide training and mentorship to warehouse operatives.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Exhibit flexibility to meet evolving business demands.
• Strictly follow Environmental, Health and Safety policies and related documentation.
• Complete all relevant training and comply with related policies.
• Contribute actively to compliance improvements regarding EHS, ISO 13485 Quality System, and FDA regulations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of secondary education or equivalent with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar environment.
• A logistics qualification or related training will be considered advantageous.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with shipping operations, customs, exports, imports, and dangerous goods regulations is highly beneficial.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills across all levels of staff and management.
• Exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication abilities.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and email.
• Experience with Oracle or comparable ERP systems is advantageous.
• Prior exposure to high-volume manufacturing warehouse operations is a plus.
• Good understanding of material flow management and inventory control systems.
• Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet trucks is preferred; training is provided if necessary.

Customer Interaction

You will address customer inquiries regarding product shipments and transport services, process orders, prepare correspondence, and support improvements that enhance customer satisfaction. Internal customer support entails explaining shipping processes and resolving related questions.
