Role Overview
The Warehouse Manager will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations including compliance with Health & Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), customer requirements, and company policies. Leading the warehouse team, this individual ensures audit readiness, accurate inventory, and continuous performance improvements aligned with business and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all warehouse functions ensuring adherence to H&S, GMP standards, customer demands, and PCI policies.
- Maintain precise documentation following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for audit purposes.
- Keep the warehouse consistently audit-ready, acting as the Subject Matter Expert during inspections.
- Work collaboratively with Planning, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to deliver production kits on time across all shifts.
- Manage stock control including cycle counts, reporting inventory usage, analyzing trends, and handling obsolete materials.
- Develop and track critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor warehouse efficiency and performance.
- Identify gaps in staffing and training, then formulate and implement corrective measures.
- Manage customer-driven process changes ensuring timely and complete execution.
- Coordinate with external logistics providers and suppliers to meet quality standards and GMP-compliant delivery schedules.
- Implement proper protocols for managing temperature-controlled and hazardous materials.
- Conduct risk assessments for warehousing activities, deploying mitigations to ensure safety and compliance.
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Investigate and address deviations or non-conformances in warehouse operations through CAPA processes.
- Lead warehouse projects managing resources, timelines, and reporting through completion.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for JD Edwards (JDE) system to support logistics and continuous system improvements.
- Collaborate with Continuous Improvement teams to promote warehouse operational excellence.
- Ensure all goods inward, dispatch, picking, and returns are processed accurately according to SOPs.
- Enforce waste disposal, recycling, and sustainability practices compliant with regulations and company policies.
- Maintain exemplary housekeeping standards fostering a safe, compliant work environment.
- Facilitate clear communication within the team and across departments to support effective warehouse operations.
- Provide ongoing training and skill development for warehouse staff.
- Be available to work outside of standard hours as required to meet business demands.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years' experience managing warehouses within a GMP or regulated setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Thorough knowledge of H&S regulations and GMP compliance standards.
- Proficient in inventory management, data analysis, and reporting techniques.
- Experience using ERP systems, specifically JD Edwards, and warehouse management software.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Proactive problem-solving and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and manage workload effectively.
- Clean driving license preferred, with experience in operating forklifts, VNA, and counterbalance equipment advantageous.
