About the Role

The Ghana Railway Development Authority is looking to hire ten Wagon Operators to support their freight transport operations in Tema, Ghana. This is a full-time position focused on ensuring the safe and effective management of cargo wagons within the rail freight sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate coupling and decoupling of wagons with precision, performing regular inspections of brakes, wheels, and cargo load conditions to guarantee safety protocols.
• Secure cargo properly and ensure balanced load distribution to facilitate smooth freight operations and efficient yard activities.
• Accurately document wagon movements, usage, and promptly report any faults or operational concerns to maintain workflow integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

• Applicants must have at least Senior High School (SHS) education or an equivalent qualification.
• A proven 2 to 3 years track record in railway operations, logistics, or heavy transport sectors is necessary.
• Candidates must be physically fit, well-versed in railway safety procedures, and demonstrate effective teamwork capabilities.
