About Freebird

Freebird is a rapidly growing direct-to-consumer brand with revenues reaching nine figures, catering to over two million customers and revolutionizing grooming for the contemporary consumer. They have developed an exceptionally strong paid acquisition system in the DTC sector, with the next growth stage focusing on enhancing user experiences that drive conversions, retention, and growth.

Role Overview

This role requires a UX/UI Designer who goes beyond visual appeal to create design systems and interfaces that actively influence key performance metrics. The designer will manage Freebird's visual execution, component libraries, and critical conversion areas where customer purchase decisions are made. Regular hands-on work in Figma, managing A/B tests with measurable success criteria, and producing production-quality design outputs within sprint cycles are essential.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Design and collaborating closely with the CRO Manager, this fully remote position mandates significant overlap with US working hours.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the UX/UI design of high-impact pages such as product detail pages (PDPs), checkout sequences, landing pages, call-to-actions (CTAs), and post-purchase interfaces that influence revenue.
  • Create A/B test designs grounded in clear hypotheses and defined success metrics before development begins.
  • Review testing outcomes, iterate designs accordingly, document successful patterns, and analyze less effective variants.
  • Work with the CRO Manager to maintain an active, evolving backlog of design hypotheses.
  • Identify and address customer journey friction points through heatmaps, session recordings, and analytics, translating findings into actionable test briefs.
  • Develop and maintain the comprehensive Freebird design system in Figma, including component libraries, design tokens, and pattern documentation, ensuring version control and governance to prevent inconsistencies.
  • Enforce consistency by reviewing team outputs, addressing deviations, and evolving the system as product lines expand.
  • Produce detailed specifications and acceptance criteria to streamline implementation and minimize revisions.
  • Convert stakeholder briefs into polished, production-ready designs adhering to sprint velocity requirements.
  • Ensure pixel-perfect execution across web and app platforms and deliver detailed design handoffs with comprehensive specifications and interaction notes.
  • Participate in sprint planning and refinement by providing precise workload estimates, highlighting potential risks, and fulfilling commitments.
  • Contribute to building scalable design practices, including fostering critique culture, organizing design files, and standardizing handoff procedures.
  • Establish and uphold a high-quality standard within the design team, acting as the authority on the Freebird design system's evolution.

Success Milestones (6-12 Months)

  • Develop and maintain a scalable design system consistently utilized across all digital platforms.
  • Successfully implement a consistent flow of design-focused experiments aligned with the CRO roadmap.
  • Achieve measurable enhancements in click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates (CVR), or average order value (AOV) attributable directly to design decisions.
  • Deliver clean and complete design handoffs that require minimal clarifications from developers.
  • Provide junior designers with clear quality standards and structured workflows.
  • Become the acknowledged internal expert on the Freebird design system and its continual advancement.

Required Qualifications

  • Between 4 and 7 years of experience in UX/UI design with a focus on direct-to-consumer or e-commerce, specifically involving product detail pages, checkout processes, and subscription experiences.
  • Proven expertise in creating, managing, and scaling design systems within Figma, including components, variants, tokens, and documentation.
  • A portfolio showcasing measurable business impact such as improvements in conversion rates, CTR, CVR, or average order values.
  • Hands-on experience managing comprehensive experimentation workflows from hypothesis creation to design of variants, analysis, and iterative refinement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, proactively communicate blockers, and maintain workflow momentum without needing perfect frameworks.
  • Comfortable presenting and defending design choices backed by customer insights and performance data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience collaborating closely with CRO or experimentation teams.
  • Knowledge of Shopify or headless commerce platforms.
  • Background in direct-response marketing or performance creative work.
  • Experience in building design systems from the ground up within a DTC brand environment.

Additional Benefits

  • You will have measurable impact with your design choices reflected in tangible business metrics.
  • Enjoy a results-focused, high-ownership culture free of office politics.
  • Opportunity to influence the growth trajectory of a nine-figure DTC brand poised for global expansion.
  • Work within a supportive, communicative, and collaborative team culture.
  • An environment that values continuous improvement, innovation, simplicity, and speed.
  • 100% remote with flexible schedules promoting autonomy and trust.
  • Unlimited paid time off enabling adequate rest and recharge.
