Role Overview

This opportunity is with a global luxury brand that is in the middle of a major digital transformation. The selected designer will take ownership of the brand’s digital experience, lifting design quality while improving conversion through data-informed optimisations.

The position begins as a 6-month fixed-term contract, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent. It offers the chance to grow within a role that combines elevated visual design with performance-focused user experience work.

You will partner closely with the Chief Product Officer and Product Manager to shape the creative direction of the website, delivering precise, brand-aligned work that is visually polished and commercially effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with brand and marketing teams to turn campaign goals and brand guidelines into a consistent website experience, including page-level content planning and balancing creative ideas with business outcomes.
  • Own and evolve the design system by maintaining reusable components, patterns, tokens and supporting documentation so the website remains consistent and scalable.
  • Create detailed design specifications that clearly define responsive behaviour, interaction states, breakpoints and accessibility requirements for development teams.
  • Produce high-fidelity mock-ups and interactive prototypes, then refine them through rapid iteration based on feedback, stakeholder input and testing results.
  • Use AI-enabled design tools to speed up exploration and prototype development.
  • Participate actively in Agile delivery processes such as stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA teams to compare the front end against design intent, review pull request previews and help remove blockers.
  • Analyse customer journey data using GA4, heatmaps and session recordings to identify friction points and generate hypotheses for improvement.
  • Plan and prioritise A/B tests, evaluate their effect on conversion and revenue, and feed the findings back into the roadmap and design system.
  • Present design decisions to senior leaders and cross-functional partners across Marketing, Retail, Tech and Brand, while managing competing priorities and building agreement.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in UX, experience design or CRO, preferably within eCommerce or digital retail, with clear evidence of commercial impact such as conversion growth and revenue improvement.
  • Strong daily working knowledge of AI-powered design and productivity tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, v0, Bolt, Lovable, Midjourney or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and influencing ability, including confidence presenting to executive stakeholders and handling differing viewpoints.
  • Experience preparing annotated prototypes and acceptance criteria for development teams.
  • Comfort using GA4, heatmaps and session recordings to turn behavioural data into practical design actions and testing plans.
  • Exposure to Salesforce Commerce Cloud and/or Shopify is preferred.
  • Familiarity with a headless CMS such as Contentful is preferred.
  • Experience in e-commerce, luxury or considered-purchase retail will be an advantage.
