Technician - Mobile Building Engineer

Position Overview

The Mobile Building Engineer role involves delivering on-site technical support, maintenance, and engineering services across multiple building sites within a specified geographical area. This position requires hands-on technical skills combined with travel to maintain efficient building operations and ensure tenant satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems in the assigned properties.
• Perform regular inspections on building equipment such as boilers, chillers, generators, elevators, and fire safety systems.
• Continuously monitor and enhance building performance to promote energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and urgent calls across several locations.
• Diagnose faults in equipment and apply immediate repair solutions to reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with external contractors and suppliers for specialized repair tasks.
• Maintain emergency contact procedures and be prepared for after-hours response duties.
• Ensure full compliance of all building systems with local regulations, codes, and safety standards.
• Conduct safety inspections and keep all necessary documentation up to date.
• Oversee environmental compliance, including management of waste and hazardous materials.
• Keep all required certifications and licenses current according to jurisdiction requirements.
• Complete comprehensive work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports thoroughly.
• Record equipment performance metrics and suggest capital improvements when necessary.
• Manage an accurate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies across varied locations.
• Provide routine status reports to property management teams.

Experience and Skills

• Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Have expertise in commercial building systems and related equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of building automation systems and approaches to energy management.
• Preferably have prior experience working in a mobile capacity or handling multiple sites.
• Show proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical system troubleshooting and repair.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Experience working with computerized maintenance management and building management systems.
