Technical Project Engineering Manager

Job Overview

We are currently looking for a highly skilled Technical Project Engineering Manager to oversee the engineering and technical coordination aspects of a significant high-rise mixed-use development in Saudi Arabia. The candidate will lead multidisciplinary technical teams and ensure seamless integration of structural, architectural, MEP, façade, interior fit-out, and infrastructure elements across the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the engineering team spanning multiple disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate between various technical domains including structural, architectural, MEP, façade, and interiors to ensure design integration.
• Review and manage IFC drawings, BIM models, shop drawings, technical calculations, and related construction documents.
• Detect and resolve design conflicts, constructability challenges, and technical interface issues prior to execution.
• Oversee preparation, submission, and approval processes for shop drawings and technical material submittals.
• Manage material submittal documentation including specifications, samples, mock-ups, and compliance certifications.
• Create and track schedules related to material submittal and procurement to align deliveries with project timelines.
• Maintain logs for engineering submissions and material approvals to monitor project progress.
• Track engineering key performance indicators (KPIs) such as submission schedules, response times, and technical team efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, procurement teams, and project managers to ensure project success.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi regulatory standards including Saudi Building Code, municipality, Civil Defense, fire safety, and life safety regulations.
• Manage fire and life safety coordination encompassing alarm systems, firefighting, smoke control, emergency systems, evacuations, and authority approvals.
• Lead BIM-driven coordination efforts through clash detection, model reviews, combined service drawings, and coordination meetings.
• Support value engineering initiatives, design optimizations, alternative materials evaluation, and delivering cost-effective solutions without quality compromise.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams and confirm execution aligns with approved designs and specifications.
• Generate technical reports, dashboards, recovery strategies, and schedules for senior management review.
• Assign responsibilities and evaluate performance of direct technical reports to ensure accountability and delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 15 to 20 years of relevant professional experience, including leadership roles in engineering management.
• Proven background working on high-rise towers, mixed-use developments, luxury residences, and five-star hotel projects.
• Strong expertise in structural, architectural, MEP, façade, interior fit-out, and infrastructure coordination methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian codes and regulations such as Saudi Building Code, municipality, Civil Defense, and fire and life safety requirements.
• Extensive familiarity with material approval processes, technical specifications, compliance documentation, and sample/mock-up inspections.
• Advanced proficiency in BIM coordination, shop drawing development, clash detection, and multidisciplinary model management.
• Experience managing engineering documentation logs including E1 and E2 logs, RFIs, design change records, and authority approval tracking.
• Demonstrable leadership skills with ability to set KPIs, monitor technical team productivity, and deliver engineering outputs aligned with project milestones.
• Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Technical proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM software, document control systems, Microsoft Office, and engineering reporting tools.
• Prior work experience within Saudi Arabia is mandatory.
• Professional-level English skills required; knowledge of Arabic language is advantageous.
