About the role
Woolworths Group is looking for a Team Manager to lead Proactive Services in Montrose, Tasmania. This role focuses on keeping stores well presented, trolleys available for customers, and work areas clean and safe. You will lead from the front, support your team directly, and help create a smooth experience for both customers and store colleagues.
Roster and availability
This is a full-time salaried position and requires flexible availability for early mornings, daytime shifts, late nights, and weekends. Two roster patterns may apply:
- Sunday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- Tuesday to Saturday, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Key duties
- Lead, guide, and develop a team working across cleaning, trolley collection, and waste support.
- Build team rosters so that daily tasks and operational coverage are properly planned.
- Work closely with store leadership to identify issues, improvement areas, and upcoming priorities.
- Handle time and attendance tasks such as hour tracking, absence management, and policy compliance.
- Order consumables like cleaning supplies and keep spending within budget.
- Stay hands-on by performing core operational work alongside the team, including cleaning, trolley collection, and waste management.
What you should bring
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in retail, a people-focused approach, and the ambition to grow into a broader leadership career. The role calls for flexibility, good organisation, physical capability, attention to detail, and comfort working within regulated requirements such as food safety, industrial rules, and workplace codes of conduct.
Working environment
You may be required to work in a variety of store settings, including the shop floor, fridges, freezers, and carparks. Because the work can be physically demanding, a good level of fitness is important. A valid full Australian driver’s licence, including Green P’s or a full licence, is required since trolley collection may involve use of company vehicles.
Perks and support
Woolworths Group offers team discounts across its brands, a rewards program recognising purpose-driven work, access to wellbeing support including the Sonder app 24/7, and a progressive leave policy designed to give you more time for what matters.
Inclusion and application note
Woolworths Group describes itself as an inclusive, team-first employer and encourages candidates to apply even if they do not meet every requirement listed. Support can also be provided during the hiring process if adjustments are needed. The company emphasises diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as central to its purpose and workplace culture.
