With facilities located in Kingston, Ontario, and Watertown, New York, the company is undergoing substantial growth while enhancing its workforce, systems, and manufacturing infrastructure.

We are looking for a seasoned, results-driven Supply Chain Manager to oversee purchasing, logistics, inventory control, receiving, kitting, and material movement across our Canadian and U.S. locations. This leadership role works closely with departments including Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Project Management, ensuring that materials are available on schedule to support the delivery of highly customized vessels worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving, Kitting, and Logistics teams across both Canadian and U.S. operations.
  • Foster an organizational culture emphasizing accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
  • Formulate and implement procurement strategies aligning with production requirements to meet targets for cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, handling negotiations on pricing, contracts, lead times, and service agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance through key metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory planning and control to optimize investment while ensuring readiness for production demands.
  • Manage logistics operations including inbound and outbound freight, customs clearance, and cross-border materials movement.
  • Collaborate closely with Production Planning to maintain smooth manufacturing flows.
  • Work alongside Engineering on new product launches and changes in design.
  • Coordinate with Finance concerning inventory accuracy, forecasts, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Maintain data integrity for ERP/MRP systems and promote effective usage of business technologies.
  • Identify supply chain risks and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance material flow, reduce waste, and shorten lead times.
  • Develop, track, and report on supply chain performance indicators.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or related fields.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS (CPIM or CSCP), CIPS, PMP, or equivalent are considered advantageous.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong background in procurement, inventory control, supplier and logistics management, and production support.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP software is essential.
  • Familiarity with engineer-to-order or custom manufacturing processes is a significant plus.
  • Outstanding analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and the Office suite.

Success Criteria

  • Ensuring production teams have timely access to required materials for meeting customer deadlines.
  • Enhancing supplier performance and deepening strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Increasing inventory accuracy and turnover rates.
  • Mitigating supply chain risks through forward planning.
  • Driving operational improvements through continuous innovation efforts.
  • Developing highly engaged, accountable, and effective teams.

Why MetalCraft Marine?

  • Lead a pivotal function underpinning manufacturing activities in Canada and the U.S.
  • Have a clear and noticeable impact on operational efficiency and corporate expansion.
  • Work with dedicated professionals producing some of the most advanced custom aluminum boats globally.
  • Join a thriving organization where your expertise, leadership, and ideas will influence business direction.

If you are prepared to guide a dynamic supply chain operation within an inventive manufacturing setting, we encourage you to apply.
