Submittal Drafter

Job Overview

The Submittal Drafter is tasked with converting initial design sketches and blueprints into comprehensive technical drawings. This role involves preparing submittal and project drawings adhering to drafting guidelines, project timeline, scope, and budgetary constraints. The drafter is also responsible for revising drawings in response to internal or external feedback.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize company-specific CAD software to create precise millwork submittal drawings based on Architectural Drawings for client approval.
• Interpret project documents to develop detailed drawings that clearly represent the project's scope and architectural intent, ensuring compliance with fabrication standards.
• Work closely with the Submittal Coordinator and Project Manager to coordinate drawings.
• Deliver submittal drawings accurately and within scheduled deadlines.
• Ensure all drawings meet both company and industry quality standards.
• Collaborate across departments including Business Development, Project Management, Project Planning, and Production to navigate complex project scopes.
• Support project managers by updating drawings and revising project documentation based on field measurements.
• Modify drawings to correct errors or integrate customer feedback and changes.
• Notify the Project Manager promptly of any cost implications arising from drawing revisions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
