Job description
Position Overview
As a Stores Supervisor located in Windhoek, Namibia, you will take charge of managing inventory operations focused on tyres. This includes overseeing stock receipt, organization, and distribution, ensuring accurate record keeping and smooth supply chain processes within the company Quality Tyres Namibia (Pty) Limited, part of Bridgestone EMEA.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify incoming stock quantities, sizes, and order numbers; accept only accurate deliveries with appropriate documentation.
- Report shortages or irregularities to management and suppliers, ensuring discrepancies are logged on invoices.
- Maintain neat and safe storage of tyres, completing all assigned tasks accurately and to the required quality standard.
- Manage documentation thoroughly, ensuring invoice clerks receive all necessary records and daily stock counts are regularly performed and reported to branch management.
- Handle special orders by ensuring customer information and invoice details are correctly linked; manage stock variances promptly and communicate effectively with suppliers to maintain satisfaction and avoid backorders.
- Control stock releases strictly through authorized requests, verify returns of old casings, and prevent errors causing stock variances.
- Oversee the correct marking and dispatch of tyres, ensuring records such as the master control book and stock registers are complete and up-to-date.
- Administer general store maintenance: keep second-hand tyres stored properly, update registers aligned with physical stock and computer systems, and ensure scrap tyres are disposed of only with proper approvals.
- Enforce security measures including limiting store access and securing premises; maintain store presentation and safety compliance including fire extinguisher accessibility.
- Promote health and safety compliance according to occupational legislation and company standards, maintaining personal protective equipment in good condition.
- Support company asset protection and undertake reasonable additional duties within your role's scope.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 10 or higher.
- Basic proficiency with computers is required.
