We are currently seeking a Site Engineer based in Galway to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately set out construction works and ensure clear communication of specifications to foremen and operatives.
• Interpret and convey information from drawings and specifications to site personnel and subcontractors to ensure precise execution.
• Conduct material testing as instructed by supervisors in line with relevant standards.
• Perform quality assurance reviews on-site, focusing on rebar and concrete placement.
• Review technical submissions before forwarding to the design team to confirm coverage of relevant work areas.
• Manage concrete testing processes and oversee results analysis.
• Guide subcontractors regarding tasks assigned on-site where necessary.
• Develop technical method statements for project activities.
• Coordinate traffic management on-site, handling operations efficiently within busy urban settings.
• Maintain detailed site diaries documenting daily progress, activities, and any significant incidents.
• Engage proactively in personal development and training, completing work-based programs promptly.
• Adhere strictly to safety procedures and report unsafe practices.
• Foster and maintain professional relationships with all project personnel.
• Monitor and verify accuracy of setting-out instruments and testing equipment.
• Enhance project profitability through effective self-management, precision in tasks, and minimizing the need for rework.
• Follow instructions diligently and participate actively in site meetings.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• A recognized third-level qualification in Engineering.
• Proven experience performing setting out duties or working as a Site Engineer in prior roles.
• Preferred experience includes working with main contractors, subcontractors, or surveying firms.
• Demonstrated ability to manage traffic on large-scale sites located in city center areas.
• Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and practices.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively across teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Project and PowerPoint.
