About the Role
Join Biffa's engineering and maintenance team, contributing to the future of operational excellence at our Redcar facility. This position involves working a rotating shift pattern of two days, two nights, followed by four days off, with shifts running from 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am. The annual salary is £47,370.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure maximum plant availability by conducting timely planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, engineering tasks, and process enhancements.
- Provide swift and effective fault diagnosis and repair to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
- Implement and manage a planned maintenance schedule, documenting recurring issues and engineering effective solutions.
- Perform minor maintenance duties on plant machinery and equipment as required.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repair and maintenance services.
- Stay updated on health, safety, environmental regulations, and company policies to uphold standards and best practices on site.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of an NVQ Level 3 qualification in engineering, preferably with an electrical focus.
- Previous experience maintaining production machinery.
- Expertise in diagnosing faults within control panels involving PLCs, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), and relay logic circuits.
- Background or experience in roles such as Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Maintenance Electrician, or similar positions involving electrical and mechanical maintenance.
