Role Overview
The Shift Analyst role, based at the Cornwala Plant, focuses on conducting laboratory tests during assigned shifts to ensure that products and supplies meet established quality standards. The analyst is responsible for proper handling of lab equipment, documenting lab activities, and reporting. They also manage critical metrics such as TRI/LTIR, COPQ, FPC, Complaint Index, OI, Cost Smart, and OTIF. This position reports directly to the Plant Quality Assurance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety-conscious laboratory testing and calibration for in-process materials, supplies, and finished goods during the shift.
- Gather, compile, and analyze daily laboratory data and KPIs ensuring timely and accurate test results.
- Prioritize tests and communicate findings based on operational and business priorities.
- Prepare and standardize chemical reagents as required and ensure availability of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Perform specialized testing and collaborate with production teams for prompt in-process analysis.
- Maintain detailed logs, reports, and equipment monitoring records, supporting the management of data and KPI entry in laboratory systems.
- Provide technical assistance to operations for investigating and resolving process inconsistencies.
- Enter all finished product test results into SAP and timely release products.
- Ensure compliance with IMS by maintaining records, performing plant and warehouse inspections (GEMBA walks), and repeating out-of-specification tests when needed.
- Coordinate and participate in training activities related to lab testing, environment health & safety (EHS), food safety, and onboarding of new hires and interns.
- Evaluate results to enhance team and instrument performance and maintain training documentation.
- Continuously develop knowledge in GMPs, GLPs, ISO standards, IMS, and standardized testing methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chemistry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in QA/QC laboratory environment in food, pharmaceutical, chemical, or quality domains.
- Fluency in English and Urdu communication skills (mandatory for managerial roles and above).
- Strong analytical and instrument calibration abilities, along with skills in physical assessment and monitoring.
- Proficient with computers and project tools including SAP, MS Office, and foundational knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
- Good command of mathematical concepts and analytical quantitative techniques.
