Role Overview
The Senior Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and continuously improving the Salesforce platform and its connected systems. As a senior technical expert within the Salesforce Center of Excellence, you will handle advanced platform administration, security oversight, automation, troubleshooting, release support, and user enablement across critical business workflows.
This role requires active collaboration with business leaders, product owners, developers, architects, QA, and IT teams to deliver scalable Salesforce solutions aligned with strategic goals. Responsibilities include leading complex configurations, supporting production operations, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to platform governance and roadmap planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Salesforce environments focusing on Sales Cloud and related applications.
- Configure custom objects, fields, record types, page layouts, validation rules, approval workflows, dynamic forms, and Lightning apps.
- Develop and sustain advanced automation using Salesforce Flow and declarative tools.
- Administer user access controls including profiles, permission sets, role hierarchies, sharing rules, and queues.
- Monitor platform performance, storage, system health, and user adoption metrics.
- Conduct routine maintenance, cleanup, and technical debt reduction tasks.
- Handle Level 2 and Level 3 support for Salesforce incidents, service, and enhancement requests.
- Troubleshoot issues such as data discrepancies, automation faults, integration errors, and user-reported defects.
- Coordinate root cause analyses and resolutions across technical and business teams ensuring SLA compliance.
- Gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into scalable Salesforce solutions using declarative and low-code approaches.
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, QA analysts, and integration teams during projects.
- Engage in Agile processes including backlog grooming, sprint planning, solution reviews, and releases.
- Support system testing, coordinate UAT, manage defect tracking, and validate deployments.
- Perform data imports, exports, cleansing, deduplication, validation, and migrations with authorized tools.
- Support and monitor integrations with third-party applications ensuring data integrity.
- Participate in deployment and release activities using CI/CD and DevOps tools.
- Document system configurations, release notes, operational procedures, and user guides.
- Lead Salesforce release readiness and evaluate new platform features.
- Recommend process improvements, governance enhancements, and platform optimizations.
- Mentor junior administrators and promote best practices, documentation standards, and scalable configurations.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and team development efforts.
- Escalate risks or issues to leadership appropriately.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience administering Salesforce in enterprise settings.
- Salesforce Administrator Certification mandatory.
- Expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud administration.
- Advanced skills with Salesforce Flow, validation rules, formulas, reports, and dashboards.
- Experience managing production environments and platform improvements.
- Knowledge of Salesforce security including profiles, permissions, roles, and data sharing.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Experience with DevOps/CI/CD tools such as Gearset, Copado, or Salesforce DevOps Center.
- Proficient with data tools including Data Loader or XL Connector.
- Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving competence.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English is required for reading, writing, and speaking.
Preferred Certifications and Experience
- Salesforce Advanced Administrator Certification.
- Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification.
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ and advanced approval processes.
- Exposure to marketing automation platforms such as Marketo, Eloqua, or HubSpot.
- Familiarity with Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, and Visualforce.
- Experience managing Salesforce sandboxes and release governance.
- Knowledge of VS Code and source control concepts.
- Background in Financial Services, Professional Services Automation, or ERP-integrated Salesforce systems.
- Understanding of enterprise integration platforms and API usage.
