Senior Python Backend Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Backend Engineer with 8 years of expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems supporting AI-focused products and enterprise data platforms. The candidate should be capable of handling architecture-level decisions, optimizing existing modules, and scaling the software effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop backend applications primarily using Python.
• Create REST APIs and microservices employing FastAPI, Flask, and Django REST Framework.
• Architect secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Implement asynchronous processing using Celery, AsyncIO, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
• Develop pipelines for extracting data from structured and unstructured sources.
• Integrate databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and interfacing with external REST APIs.
• Work with AI and Large Language Model (LLM) providers like OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), and Fireworks AI.
• Use Pydantic models for structuring LLM outputs.
• Implement mechanisms such as confidence scoring, validation, retry logic, audit logging, and robust error handling.
• Write unit and integration tests with pytest.
• Engage in code reviews, continuous integration/deployment, and deployment processes.

Technical Skills Required

• Proficient in Python, SQL, and preferably JavaScript.
• Experience with frameworks including FastAPI, Flask, Django, and Django REST Framework.
• Strong backend development involving REST APIs, microservices, JWT/OAuth2 authentication, AsyncIO, Celery, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
• Knowledge of databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and MySQL.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM platforms: OpenAI, Anthropic, Fireworks AI, prompt engineering, and using Pydantic.
• Cloud and DevOps tools including Docker, Git, Linux, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS is preferred.
• Testing frameworks such as pytest for unit and integration tests.
• Tools experience: GitHub or GitLab, Postman, Jira, Swagger/OpenAPI.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience developing enterprise-level AI-enabled backend platforms.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Expertise in building scalable data processing pipelines.
• Knowledge in containerization and cloud-native deployment strategies.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.

Work Model and Terms

Initially, the position requires working from the office in Noida five days a week. Upon completion of an observation period, the role may transition to a hybrid work arrangement depending on project needs and individual performance.
