Senior Project Engineer - Electrical Focus for Data Centre Construction

About the Role

We are partnered with a prominent mechanical and electrical (M&E) design and build firm known for managing large, intricate projects across Europe and the UK, especially in critical mission and data centre sectors. With growth accelerating in Germany, a skilled Senior Project Engineer is sought to support a key data centre project based in Frankfurt. This permanent full-time position offers a competitive salary between €60,000 and €80,000 alongside a living allowance, accommodation, and flights for a rotation schedule of 17 days on and 4 days off.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluating project designs, specifications, and precise technical requirements.
• Overseeing technical submittals through complete review and approval stages.
• Generating and managing Requests for Information (RFIs), maintaining accurate logs.
• Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Design Teams, and Quantity Surveyors to monitor project milestones.
• Ensuring site teams utilize the latest approved drawings and specifications.
• Managing redline drawings and aligning as-built documentation with the design team.
• Monitoring delivery timelines for long-lead equipment critical to the construction schedule.
• Overseeing subcontractor performance and ensuring compliance with project standards.
• Participating in site visits and project coordination meetings to streamline communication.
• Assisting the commercial team with variation handling, change management, and procurement processes.
• Maintaining adherence to all relevant building codes, technical standards, and environmental health and safety regulations.
• Supporting commissioning activities, project handover, and creation of operations and maintenance (O&M) documentation.
• Keeping meticulous project and document control records throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in mechanical and electrical construction projects.
• Proven track record on large-scale and technically demanding projects, with preference for experience in data centre or mission-critical environments.
• Strong expertise in M&E systems and construction execution.
• Technical proficiency handling submittals, RFIs, drawings, and various project documentation.
• Excellent coordination skills to bridge design, commercial, and site teams effectively.
• Educational background in Engineering or related technical disciplines.
• Proficient in MS Project and Microsoft Office; AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
