Role Overview

The Senior Product Manager will focus on advancing the Core Platform's development to support n8n's upcoming growth by enhancing scalability, reliability, security, and flexibility to meet increasing customer demands and technical complexity. This role owns the fundamental architecture that underpins all platform features including AI and agent functionalities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and articulate a clear product strategy and roadmap for the Core Platform in coordination with Engineering and Product leadership teams.
Evaluate and prioritize investments focusing on customer value, enterprise requirements, technical risks, and engineering resources, balancing short-term needs and long-term platform evolution.
Lead discovery efforts on complex technical challenges by engaging with enterprise clients and internal stakeholders.
Oversee initiatives enhancing the scalability and dependability of the execution engine, including components like worker pools and distributed processing.
Enhance trigger reliability and execution consistency across diverse environments such as cloud and enterprise self-hosted setups.
Design a more secure and adaptable framework for executing code within the platform.
Manage planning and rollout of major platform releases, including migration strategies, risk mitigation, and communication to stakeholders.
Set objective success metrics and hold teams accountable for delivering results beyond mere output.
Facilitate collaboration across departments including Product, Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and Support, ensuring trade-offs are clearly communicated and understood.
Treat internal product teams as platform customers by proactively identifying and addressing cross-team platform needs to prevent bottlenecks.

Required Qualifications

At least five years of product management experience, including two to three years focused on platform, infrastructure, developer tools, or backend/API products.
Strong technical foundation with ability to engage deeply on distributed systems, execution models, reliability, scalability, and non-functional requirements.
Proven leadership in managing complex, multi-team technical projects with significant delivery risks, such as migrations or breaking changes.
Capability to make informed prioritization decisions amid ambiguity, linking technical debt and foundational work to business and user outcomes.
Demonstrated ownership mindset with initiative to identify problems and drive resolutions independently.
Excellent communicator able to translate complex technical details for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with enterprise software considerations including self-hosted, air-gapped, or restricted environments.

Preferred Attributes

Hands-on technical skills such as reading code or prototyping even if not directly responsible for delivery.
Background in B2B SaaS environments focused on security, compliance, or deployment intricacies.
Experience collaborating with security teams on code execution, isolation, and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with workflow automation, orchestration, or open-source developer community products.
Strong writing skills to promote clarity and alignment.
