About the Role
Delhivery, India's largest supply chain company, is seeking a Senior Associate to manage and optimize trucking operations at our Bhiwandi location. The role involves comprehensive planning, monitoring, coordination, and maintenance responsibilities to ensure seamless transport and logistics flow.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and implement daily truck deployment schedules based on shipment demands and deadlines.
- Create efficient route plans to minimize distance traveled, time taken, and fuel usage.
- Assign trucks and drivers considering load requirements, route specifics, and compliance with legal capacity limitations.
- Liaise with warehouse, maintenance, and control tower teams to facilitate smooth operational processes.
- Use GPS and tracking systems to monitor truck locations and progress in real time.
- Track and manage delays, stops, and deviations from predefined routes, providing necessary updates to internal teams and the control tower.
- Ensure adherence to timely processes of loading, transportation, and unloading of cargo.
- Communicate trip details, schedules, and instructions clearly to drivers.
- Monitor driver compliance with safety rules, driving laws, and rest period regulations.
- Manage incident reporting and follow-up on vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or emergencies.
- Assist drivers with navigation and resolving trip-related issues.
- Maintain detailed trip sheets, logs, and all transport-related documentation.
- Record and analyze fuel consumption, mileage, and associated trip expenditures.
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports documenting truck usage and operational performance.
- Note down delays, penalties, and operational challenges for continuous improvement.
- Lead vehicle inspections, diagnostic checks, and breakdown management.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and timely repair and parts replacement.
- Coordinate clearance of bills through the commercial team promptly.
- Manage inventory related to fleet maintenance and upkeep of service shops.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of fleet operations and truck logistics management.
- Effective coordination and communication capabilities.
- Basic familiarity with transport regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to manage multiple trips and work efficiently under pressure.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and use of tracking systems or Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Preferred educational background: Graduate or Diploma in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of professional experience in truck operations, fleet planning, or logistics monitoring.
- Experience handling self-owned fleets is considered advantageous.
