About the Role
Join Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. as a Senior Developer specializing in Apigee API management. This position is based in Hyderabad, India, where you will architect, build, and maintain API solutions leveraging Apigee Edge and X platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, deploy, and support APIs with Apigee technologies.
- Create and manage API proxies, policies, shared flows, and API products effectively.
- Secure APIs by configuring OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, and role-based access controls.
- Apply traffic management controls such as Spike Arrest, Quotas, and Rate Limiting to ensure stability.
- Integrate RESTful APIs seamlessly with backend services and external third-party systems.
- Investigate and resolve API issues using Apigee Analytics, Trace, and Logging utilities.
- Maintain API versioning, comprehensive documentation, and follow lifecycle management best practices.
- Collaborate closely with frontend, backend, and DevOps teams to enhance API delivery.
- Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for API release processes.
- Optimize API performance, monitoring routines, and scalability strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess 4 to 6 years of experience in API development and systems integration.
- Over 3 years of practical experience working with Apigee Edge and Apigee X environments.
- Solid knowledge of RESTful API concepts, HTTP protocols, methods, and response codes.
- Competent in implementing API security protocols including OAuth 2.0, JSON Web Tokens, SSL, and API key management.
- Skilled in JavaScript, Java, or Node.js specifically for developing Apigee policy logic.
- Experience handling data formats and transformation tools such as JSON, XML, and XSLT.
- Proficient in building and maintaining API proxies, policies, and shared flows on Apigee.
- Familiarity with automation and version control tools like Jenkins, Git, GitHub, or GitLab for CI/CD deployments.
