Scrum Master (Azure Databricks)

Overview

Aarorn Technologies Inc is seeking a skilled Scrum Master to oversee Agile delivery for extensive Azure Databricks, Data & AI projects in the telecommunications sector. This contract role is based in Brampton, ON, requiring onsite presence three days per week, with a pay rate of CAD 55 per hour including taxes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all Agile and Scrum ceremonies such as Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinements.
• Coordinate Scrum of Scrums meetings involving multiple Agile teams and facilitate Program Increment Planning and Inspect & Adapt sessions within a SAFe framework.
• Monitor sprint progress, team velocity, capacity, and delivery commitments, while identifying and escalating any impediments.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Business Stakeholders, Development, QA, Operations, and Vendor teams to manage milestones, delivery schedules, and release plans.
• Facilitate multi-team dependency management and track project delivery through status reports, dashboards, and RAID logs.
• Support delivery of Azure Databricks, Data Lakes, Warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, analytics, and data migration initiatives by working closely with data engineers, architects, cloud teams, and stakeholders.
• Handle financial and commercial aspects including drafting Statements of Work, Work Authorizations, change requests, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
• Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Vendor Management, and Project Sponsors on invoice validation, funding approval, vendor onboarding, and contract oversight.
• Provide governance by organizing steering committee reviews and maintaining compliance with organizational delivery standards.
• Ensure effective communication among business, technology, delivery, and vendor teams to keep leadership and program managers informed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager with comprehensive understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe methodologies.
• Experience facilitating Agile Release Train activities including PI planning and Scrum of Scrums.
• Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
• Strong expertise in financial management related to projects, including cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and preparing SOWs and Work Authorizations.
• Ability to coordinate across Finance, Procurement, Vendor Management, and Leadership for project financials.
• Preferred certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Agilist (SA), PMI-ACP or PMP.
• Preferred experience with Azure Cloud environments and Databricks program delivery, as well as handling vendor or capital-funded projects.

Additional Information
