Role Overview

As a Sanitation Worker at our Winnipeg facility, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness across production areas to ensure safety and product quality. This position demands commitment, flexibility, and the ability to operate a variety of cleaning tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the production floor and adjacent areas clean and well-maintained.
• Operate various cleaning equipment, including scrapers, brushes, pads, vacuums, scrub machines, compressed air devices, and power washers, to sanitize floors, ceilings, walls, warehouses, freezers, refrigerators, packing, and production zones.
• Manage lockout procedures, dismantle, clean, and sanitize production machines as per the master sanitation schedule and standard operating protocols.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Health and Safety standards during cleaning operations.
• Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables from the production areas properly.
• Respond to and clean significant spills of liquids or dry products as required.
• Execute specialized cleaning procedures based on the established sanitation schedule.
• Adhere to all relevant laws and internal policies relating to food safety, health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Candidate Requirements

• Passion for bread and baked products.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred, especially within food production environments.
• Experience in sanitation roles, particularly in industrial settings, is highly advantageous.
• Comfortable handling sanitizing chemicals and substances safely.
• Strong attention to detail to meet prescribed cleanliness standards.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced workplace, self-reliant attitude, and eagerness to learn and advance professionally.
• Receptive to constructive criticism for personal and professional improvement.

• Competitive hourly wage of $20, with an additional $2 per hour night shift premium.
